Lesson 8 of 16 · Grow
Automated Pipelines
Automated Pipelines is your prospecting machine. Tell Winston what you sell and where, and he finds up to 15 matching businesses at a time from public map data, looks up who's in charge of each, scores how well each one fits, and drafts a first message. Nothing is ever emailed, texted or called automatically: Winston writes drafts and reminders, and you do the reaching out.
What this tab is for
- Pick your niche from a list (websites, SEO, insurance, cleaning and more) or describe your own
- Search around a city, ZIP or address, or across a whole city, county or state
- See each business's contact details, the person in charge and why Winston picked them
- Edit, approve and send the first message from your own email
- Add good fits to the CRM and set aside the rest
- Search leads by business, person or email
- Filter by list, stage, sequence, contact info and email check
- Sort by best fit, newest or name
- Find who's in charge for many leads at once
- Add leads to lists, sequences or the CRM in bulk, or export a CSV
- Build a sequence from a template or from scratch
- Mix email, phone call and to-do steps, with days to wait between them
- Use Winston's personal first message for each lead, or your own
- Personalise messages with the lead's name and company
- Work each day's due tasks, and mark replies to stop follow-ups
- Search by job title, industry, company size and location
- Reveal one contact's email or phone for one credit
- Add contacts to the CRM
Option 1 of 8
Running a search
- 1
Open Automated Pipelines
In the Grow group. The Leads tab opens with Find new businesses at the top.
- 2
Choose what you sell
Pick your niche, such as Websites & Google listings, Paid ads, Bookkeeping & tax or Life insurance & IUL for owners. Choose Something else to describe it yourself. Winston uses this to judge each business and write your message.
- 3
Choose where
Around a location draws a circle around a city, ZIP code or address. A whole region covers everything inside a city, county or state.
- 4
Press Find businesses
Winston finds up to 15 new businesses, looks up who's in charge, scores each and drafts a first message. It can take a few minutes. Nothing is sent.
Option 2 of 8
Reviewing what Winston found
Each business card moves through its own stages: Found, Ready to send, Contacted, Interested, a customer, or Not a fit.
- 1
Read the card
It shows the score, contact details, the Person in charge, where Winston found them and Why Winston picked them.
- 2
Check the email
Each email address gets a check: Takes mail, Risky or Would bounce. Avoid sending to ones that would bounce.
- 3
Edit the first message
Under First message (edit it however you like), change anything that doesn't sound like you.
- 4
Approve and send
Press Approve message, then Open in my email (or Copy message) and send it from your own inbox.
- 5
Record it
Press I sent it. The card moves to Contacted.
- 6
Keep or drop
Press Add to CRM for a good fit, or Not a fit to set it aside.
Scores of 80 and above are strong fits. Start with those.
Option 3 of 8
Working the database
- 1
Search
Type in Search businesses, people, emails…
- 2
Filter
Narrow by list, stage, whether they're in a sequence, missing email, phone or website, and email check.
- 3
Sort
Best fit first is usually the right choice. You can also sort by newest or by name.
- 4
Tick the ones you want
Use the checkboxes, or Select all on this page.
- 5
Act on them together
With leads ticked: Add to list, Add to sequence, Find who's in charge (Winston looks up the owner or manager from each business's own published info), Move to stage, Add to CRM or Export CSV.
Option 4 of 8
Making and managing lists
- 1
Open the Lists tab
Lists group leads so you can work them together.
- 2
Make a list
Type a name, such as Tampa roofers, and press Make list. Or tick leads on the Leads tab and choose Add to list.
- 3
Rename or delete
Use the buttons beside each list.
Option 5 of 8
Building a sequence
- 1
Open the Sequences tab
Press New from template to start from Winston's proven plan, or start blank.
- 2
Name it
For example Roofers follow-up.
- 3
Set the first step
Choose Use Winston's personal first message to send each lead the message Winston wrote for them, or Write my own instead.
- 4
Add more steps
Press Add step. Choose Email, Phone call or To-do, the days to wait after the previous step, and the subject and message.
- 5
Personalise
Use placeholders like {{first_name}}, {{company}}, {{my_name}} and {{my_company}}; Winston fills them in for each lead.
- 6
Reorder and save
Use the arrows to move steps, the bin to remove one, then press Save sequence.
Option 6 of 8
Adding leads to a sequence
- 1
Tick leads
On the Leads tab, tick the leads you want.
- 2
Choose Add to sequence
Pick the sequence. Each lead gets its own schedule starting today.
Option 7 of 8
Working your daily tasks
- 1
Open the Tasks tab
Steps due today (and overdue ones) are listed, each with the message filled in. Coming up shows what's next.
- 2
Check the message
Edit the subject or message if you like.
- 3
Send it
Press Open in my email to send from your own inbox. If there's no email on file, copy it or call instead.
- 4
Mark done
Press Mark done. The lead moves on to the next step.
- 5
When they reply
Press They replied. Their follow-ups stop and they move to Interested.
Ten minutes on Tasks every morning is the habit that turns Pipelines into customers.
Option 8 of 8
Searching for people
- 1
Check the key is set
If you see Add an API key in Settings > Integrations, add your Seamless.ai key first.
- 2

- 4

Press Enrich (1 credit) to reveal their email or phone. The status shows Researching, then Enriched.
- 5

Press Add to CRM, or View in CRM if they're already there.
Your exercise
Before you finish, open the tab and try:
- Run one search for your niche in your own town.
- Edit and approve the first message for your top-scoring business.
- Make a list called "Call this week" and add your three best leads to it.
- Create a sequence from the template and add one list to it.
- Work today's tasks and mark one done.
Worked through every option above? Finish the lesson to tick it off.
