Lesson 22 of 23 · Admin
Client Logins
Every client business can have its own login to a private portal at the client sign-in page. A client only ever sees their own business: their website, Winston's work for them and recent activity. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody, including you, can look one up. To get someone back in, you send a reset link or set a temporary password.
What this tab is for
- Create a login for any client business
- Email the client a link to choose a password, or hand them a temporary one
- See each login's state: invited, active, temporary password, locked or disabled
- Send a reset link, set a temporary password, or turn a login off and on
Option 1 of 2
Creating a login
- 1
Open Client Logins
In the Admin group.
- 2
Choose the business
Under Create a login, pick the client business.
- 3
Enter their email
And their name if you like.
- 4
Choose how they get in
Email them a link to choose a password (it lasts seven days), or Give me a temporary password to hand over.
- 5
Press Create login
A temporary password is shown only once, so copy it now. They'll choose their own the first time they sign in.
Option 2 of 2
Helping a client get back in
- 1
Find their login
Each business lists its logins with their state and last sign-in.
- 2
Send a reset link
It lasts 24 hours.
- 3
Or set a temporary password
They must change it when they sign in.
- 4
Locked out?
After too many wrong passwords a login locks for 15 minutes. A reset gets them in sooner.
- 5
Turn a login off
Disable it to stop access straight away. Turn it back on any time.
